You can reach all stops inside the city limits with tickets of the zone "AB". Tickets are valid for bus, subway, S-Bahn and Tram (Streetcar). Changes are allowed. The cost for a single journey AB is €2,10 euro. A day pass AB is €5,80 euro. So it makes sense to buy a day pass if you are planning three or more journeys a day. Make sure that you validate (stamp) the ticket before you get on the train!
From Hauptbahnhof (Lehrter Bahnhof)
There are two possibilities: Bus or train.
The bus number 240 leaves from in front of the train station. Get off at “Rosenthaler Platz” (bus takes around 10 minutes). The stop is across the street from the hostel.The bus runs regularly during the day, but in the evening the S-Bahn is a good idea.
The first thing you need to do is follow the signs to the S-Bahn (green circle with a white S in the middle). Take any eastbound S-Bahn and get out at “Alexanderplatz”. Here you need to transfer to the U-Bahnlinie U8. Take the U8 towards "Wittenau" for two stops to the station "Rosenthaler Platz". Get off the train and follow the signs to the exit "Weinbergsweg" (the exit is towards the back of the train).
We are the big yellow corner building at the intersection "Rosenthaler Platz". There is a pharmacy on the corner of the building. The entrance is on the side of the building on the street "Weinbergsweg". Welcome!
From Ostbahnhof:
There are two possibilities: Bus or train.
The bus number 240 is fast, comfortable and takes you right in front of our door but it only runs every 20 minutes during the day. After 7 at night until 4 in the morning it even only runs every half hour.
Look for the bus-sign in the station. The bus stop is in front of the station. Take line number 240 direction "Robert-Koch-Platz" to "Rosenthaler Platz". Follow the street in the same direction and make a right turn at the next corner into "Weinbergsweg". Our entrance is after about 20 metres on the right side.
The train is not faster but runs more frequently. Look for the S-Bahn sign (white S on a green circle). Get on any westbound train here for 2 stops to "Alexanderplatz". Change to the underground line U8 and take it direction "Wittenau" for two stops to station "Rosenthaler Platz". Get off the train and walk opposite it's driving direction. Look for the exit towards "Weinbergsweg". Go up the stairs, take a left twice and walk up the stairs one more time. You'll see our entrance on the opposite side of the street. Welcome!
From ZOB (central bus station):
Take the underground line U2 in direction "Pankow" to "Alexanderplatz". Change to the underground line U8 and take it direction "Wittenau" for two stops to station "Rosenthaler Platz". Get off the train and walk opposite it's driving direction. Look for the exit towards "Weinbergsweg". Go up the stairs, take a left twice and walk up the stairs one more time. You'll see our entrance on the opposite side of the street. Welcome!
From airport Tegel:
In front of the airport is a bus stop. Take the line number 128 direction "Osloer Straße" to the end stop. Change to the underground line U8 and take it direction "Hermannstraße" to the station "Rosenthaler Platz". Get off the train and walk in it's driving direction. Look for the exit towards "Weinbergsweg". Go up the stairs, take a left twice and walk up the stairs one more time. You'll see our entrance on the opposite side of the street. Welcome!
From airport Schönefeld:
Take the free shuttle bus to the S-Bahn station "Schönefeld". Look for the S-Bahn sign (white S on a green circle). Get on any westbound train here to "Alexanderplatz" (Please notice, that there are also ticket machines upstairs on the platforms. You don't have to stand in line in front of the one machine that is located downstairs. Tickets zone "AB" are fine to go into the city. You can take the S-Bahn or the „Regionalexpress“ trains to Alexanderplatz). Change to the underground line U8 and take it direction "Wittenau" for two stops to station "Rosenthaler Platz". Get off the train and walk opposite it's driving direction. Look for the exit towards "Weinbergsweg". Go up the stairs, take a left twice and walk up the stairs one more time. You'll see our entrance on the opposite side of the street. Welcome!
From airport Tempelhof:
Close to the airport is the underground station "Platz der Luftbrücke". Take the underground line U6 direction "Alt-Tegel" and get off the train at station "Stadtmitte". Change to the underground line U2 and take it in direction "Pankow". Get off the train at station "Alexanderplatz". Change to the underground line U8 and take it direction "Wittenau" for two stops to station "Rosenthaler Platz". Get off the train and walk opposite it's driving direction. Look for the exit towards "Weinbergsweg". Go up the stairs, take a left twice and walk up the stairs one more time. You'll see our entrance on the opposite side of the street. Welcome!
