The Ski and Snowboard Show - 1st Oct 2008
The world's biggest Ski and Snowboard show happens in London. The show features over 200 exhibitors, a 40 foot kicker, a Land Rover Alpine Climb and the XFM Igloo banging out great tunes. The Day of German Unity on October 3, 2008 marks the official reunification of the city back on October 3, 1990. Less than twenty years later - the Day of German Unity is a day of appreciation and a great event to be a part of, with a plethora of food, music and entertainment. Wigstöckel is a weekend for transgendered men and women at the SO36 club in Kreuzberg, on October 4, 2008. Everyone's welcome but it's not a gawking event rather an open forum to give everyone an opportunity to express and perform. Booths, discussions and events highlight transgender, cross dressing and no-gender history, and topics. Find the club at 190 Orianienstrasse.

Bokbierfestival translates as Bock Beer Festival and runs from October 23 to October 25, 2008. It's the biggest ale festival in the Netherlands and celebrates the local Dutch brew - Bock. Visitors to the festival have the chance to taste over 50 seasonal variations. You can find it in the Beurs van Berlage - building 277 on the Damrak.

Long Night of Shopping - 25th Oct 2008
The Long Night of Shopping in Kurfürstendamm is set for October 25, 2008 but the date might vary. The seventeenth Long Night of Shopping will take place to celebrate the changing of the clocks. You'll find the 250 participating stores in Berlin's premier shopping district Kurfürstendamm (known as Ku'damm). The area is similar to the Champs Elysées in Paris, with many of the big designers present here.

London Plenty on October 26, 2008 is a rather strange festival celebrating the apple harvest, the use of the new corn and grain, and the planting of seeds and trees. Strange but cool nonetheless! It all kicks off at noon outside the Globe Theatre on the south bank and ends at Borough Market. All festivities (apart from the food and the cider) are free.

Samhuinn Festival - 31st Oct 2008
The Samhuinn Festival on October 31, 2008 is organised by the Beltane Society and follows the legend of the Winter King taking down the Summer King. It brings the party out into the streets with music, dancing and fireworks, lighting a path down the Royal Mile on October 31.
