Rimini - The capital of the Romagna region is located at the south tip of the Padana flat area, surrounded by hills and beautiful sandy beaches. The town has been a major tourist destination since the 900' (the first fully equipped beach dates back to 1843) and today still pulls-in holiday makers by the thousands. Rimini's golden beach - is a great place to chill out with a book , listen to some music, enjoy a game of volley ball or bowls, take a stroll or just relax on a boat cruise and take in the beautiful scenery of the Adriatic coast. For the more active there are a wide range of water sports - swimming, canoeing, wind surfing and kite surfing. Rimini is not only for beach lovers - The historic centre is steeped in history and is rich in monuments originating from roman times - Arco d'Augusto, Ponte di Tiberio e Castel Sismondo.( free multilingual guided walking tours available in Summer). Marina Centro - a shoppers paradise is situated not far from the historic centre. There is a wide range of shops and facilities which offer everything from the latest Italian fashion, delicious food and local markets. There is also a recreational park nearby which is great for long walks or just relax in the green areas and watch the sunset.
The countryside and surrounding areas have a lot to offer, medieval castles, fortresses, old roman towns, monuments, war cemeteries and in particular the fascinating views of the vineyards and olive trees. Old Roman Towns - Gradara Castle, San Marino - Oldest Republic, Rock of Cagliostro at San Leo. If all this is not enough there is a wide choice of theme parks - Aquafan (waterpark) , Italia in Miniatura (Little Italy), Oltre Mare (earth and ocean) , Le Navi (aquarium), Delfinario (dolphin shows), Mirabilandia (fantasy park), Parco Tematico dell'Aviazione (aviation museum).
