Things to do in Rotterdam

The impressive skyline of Rotterdam can be seen for miles around, enhancing the city’s imposing appearance. Rotterdam is known in the Netherlands and abroad as a city of great architecture, featuring many examples of innovative construction. Behind the imposing skyline of Rotterdam is a dynamic city full of surprises.

Rotterdam is alive during the year with festivals and events connected with arts, culture, sports and music. The city is been awarded “Events city of the Netherlands” twice and with good reason. There’s the International Film Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, The Dance Parade and the Rotterdam Marathon. In July 2010 the Tour the France will have its spectacular start in Rotterdam! But there is more. Rotterdam sets the tone in the clubbing circuit as well. Clubs as WATT and Off Corso are the top venues for party minded people from the Netherlands and much further.

Besides all the architecture, festivals and clubbing you can also indulge yourself in the cultural urban scene, with lots of art galleries, museums, bars, coffeeshops, music venues, shopping and so on.
