Bruges Three Day Music Festival

Start Date: 19th Jul 2009

End Date: 21st Jul 2009

Duration: 3 days

Description:

It really is high season in Bruges because only a week after Cactus, the city is hosting yet another music festival and this one lasts for three days. The venue this time is Grote Markt Square ‐ an ideal location in the city centre and as if that wasn’t enough, the whole event can be enjoyed for a mere €1! In its 35th year, this huge folk festival aims to promote Flemish music and art, with the final day coinciding with a national holiday. The main acts playing this year are Gary Hagger, Frank Boeijin and Hautekiet & the Lion. The festival then concludes with the traditional Flanders Sings exercise, where the 20,000 strong crowd attempt what is possibly the largest organised sing along, outside of a Walt Disney film. The action kicks off at 20.00 on Sunday and Monday and 18.00 on Tuesday, although the crowds are likely to gather earlier. Whether or not you’re in Bruges for the festival, the sheer number of people expected will make this the unavoidable, absolute hub of town life for three days.
