This hostel is by far the best one I've ever stayed in. It is so clean and cozy. We stayed at one of the double rooms and the bed was big and comfy and the bathroom was huge and spotless clean. The lovely staff at Reception was so helpful, tey know a lot about the city, and always have the best tips and Erin, the owner, is a star! The hostel is nice and quiet to sleep, even though they have a lovely bar with music instruments for guests. Also the location is good, as it is so close to Westbahnoff, which takes you to the city center in 7 minutes. Ruthensteiner truly is a gem in this lovely city.

This was a great hostel. There was a great social life complete with busy bars, quiet gardens, and a great kitchen area.

Located close to Westbahnof, this tidy hostel proves to be welcoming. During high season, I arrived without a reservation and the staff members were accommodating in checking me in. Just be mindful that in the morning, they need some time to re-arrange guests who have prolonged their stay so they may come off short - but, they are just doing their job as effectively as they can! The woman who runs the hostel is very sweet and she will go out of her way to help you. The hostel pay phone can actually accept incoming calls; and there are 3 computers for Internet and you pay 2 euros for a set time of 45 minutes (if I'm not mistaken). The dorm rooms are bright and airy. Makeup mirrors in dorm room as well! The storage is great - big lockers in the dorm rooms and large lockers for storage pre-check-in or post-check-out! There is a great common room - with instruments for all to use (including a piano & guitars), as well as a breakfast/dining area, kitchen and an adorable outdoor garden. Vienna is a beautiful city and it is great knowing your luggage and valuables are in a safe place. Staff members are very much multi-lingual.
