There are 1 billion active users on Instagram and 40% of those users prioritize ‘Instagramability’ when choosing their next vacation spot. Luckily, Europe is full of instagrammable places. To make sure you’re guaranteed an amazing Insta snap everywhere you go on your Eurotrip, we’ll share the most instagrammable places of our 43 destinations.

1. Damrak – Amsterdam

Only a few minutes walk from Amsterdam central the Damrak starts. Right where the canal cruises leave for a sightseeing tour around Amsterdam you will find one of the most instagrammable places in the city. For the best pictures make sure to go right after sunrise, when the water is still flat and you get perfect reflections of the canal houses.

2. A for Athens – Athens

Athens has a lot of very instagrammable places, yet our favourite – apart from the Rooftop of Athenstyle Hostel – is the view from A for Athens. From this cocktail bar (where they also have really good coffees) you look over Monastiraki Square with the ancient Acropolis in the background. It makes you feel you’re standing right in front of a painting.

3. Tibidabo – Barcelona

It would be easy to tell you to take a picture in front of the Sagrada Familia, because let’s be honest – that’s the main Instagrammable place in Barcelona. But we wanted to show you another really cool spot: Tibidabo. At the top of one of the mountains surrounding Barcelona you find a small theme park and stunning cathedral. You can take this picture by going into one of the attractions (it’s only 2 euros). It’s a great experience with the best views!

4. Church of Saint Sava – Belgrade

In Serbia you will find one of the the largest Orthodox churches in the world: the Church of Saint Sava. It ranks among the largest church buildings there is – and is not only incredible to see (and photograph) during the day, but also at night when the fountains and church are lit up.

5. East Side Gallery – Berlin

The East Side Gallery is what once was the Berlin Wall, splitting the east and the west side of the city. Most of the wall has been broken down but this 1316m long remnant was turned into an open-art gallery. It’s one of the most photographed places in Berlin where you will find the most thoughtful and colourful artworks!

 6. Guggenheim Museum – Bilbao

The Guggenheim Museum is a piece of art on itself. The building of the modern and contemporary art museum very impressive and brilliant to photograph. It’s one of the largest museums in Spain and definitely worth a visit, even if you’re new to art.

7. Kapitulská street – Bratislava

Kapitulská street is one of the cutest streets in the Old Town of Bratislava. When you walk through the picturesque alleys around the street it feels like you’re back in time. It’s not crowded there which makes the street the perfect instagrammable place.

8. Rozenhoedkaai – Bruges

There’s something magical about Rozenhoedkaai in Bruges, especially when the night falls and the lights shine. Make sure to capture this instagrammable place in Bruges during both the day and night.

9. Parliament Building – Budapest

Though Budapest is full of stunning buildings, the Parliament building with catch your attention straight away. It’s a famous landmark and popular tourist attraction. The best way to see and photograph the building is from the other side of the river as it’s too big to even take a picture of when you’re standing in front of it!

10. Nyhavn – Copenhagen

Copenhagen is known for its colourful harbour: Nyhavn. This 17th century harbourfront is an iconic spot and very instagrammable. You will be able to take the most incredible pictures there. Even when it rains it still looks cute with the old sailing ships and colourful facades of the old houses.

11. Trinity College Library – Dublin

The Library of Trinity College in the heart of Dublin is one of the most beautiful ones around. Literally every corner of the library is very instagrammable as well as the rest of the university. To get to the library you have to do a tour around the university or get an entrance ticket to the Book of Kells.

12. Edinburgh Castle – Edinburgh

Right on top of Castle Rock in the middle of Edinburgh you find this stunning castle. You can walk up to the entrance of the castle where you’ll be able to take amazing pictures, going further requires an entrance ticket. Luckily, the castle is most instagrammable from a distance!

13. Römerberg – Frankfurt

The iconic square Römerberg in Frankfort is home to the cutest German houses – just as you imagine them to be.Unfortunately they aren’t the original buildings as they had to be reconstructed after WWII. In winter there’s also a very instagrammable Christmas market on the square.

14. Alhambra – Granada

When you’re in Granada you can’t escape the Alhambra. Being one of the last Islamic palaces built in Spain it’s one of those places you have to visit. Wandering through the Alhambra is a true experience so make sure to get an entrance ticket as well.

15. Lauterbrunnen – Interlaken

Though there are countless amazing instagram spots in Interlaken (such as Balmer’s Hostel itself, the Top of Interlaken and the two surrounding lakes) is there one spot you can’t miss. Lauterbrunnen is one of the most photogenic places there is, don’t you agree?

16. Blue Mosque – Istanbul

Also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque – but often called the Blue Mosque because of the blue tiles on the walls. It’s one of the most beautiful mosques around and can be captured from a great distance.

17. Temple Mount – Jerusalem

When you’re in Jerusalem you will visit Temple Mount. It’s a holy site within the old city and is open to all visitors. One of the best views you can get is from the top of the Aish Center at the Western Mall.

18. Bayerische Bahnhof – Leipzig

Sometimes you find the best instagrammable places at the spots you least expect it. Such as the the Bayerische Bahnhof in Leipzig.

Though Lille has a lot of cute streets and lovely buildings, one of the best spots to take pictures is at Porte de Paris. It’s a stunning monument for the glory of Louis XVI. Also discover all the other little gates and alleys, where you will be able to take amazing photos.

20. Yellow Trams – Lisbon

Lisbon charms 🚌 p.s. there was a car just behind us waiting for us to get up…😅 The tram would pass at this exact same spot every 20 minutes and we would have 2-3 seconds for the shot..yeap..chasing trams in Lisbon..that’s what we did an entire afternoon… But the weather was lovely and the street not that dirty. A visit to London is not complete without a picture of Big Ben. After a long restauration he finally shines again. You can take incredible pictures from each and every side of the Great Bell but our favourite is from the bridge!

Calle San Agustin is our favourite street in Malaga. With the little houses, cute church and palm trees it gives your pictures will get an instant holiday feeling.

When I take a look at all my shots from Marseille it’s hard to believe they were captured in one place. How unbelievably versatile this city is! One of the oldest in France it holds the traces of its cosmopolitan past and rich culture in such a captivating and fresh way. The Old Port in Marseille gives you an incredible view over the city, sailing boats and Notre-Dame de la Garde.

25. Duomo di Milano – Milan

You probably have seen this stunning cathedral in your Instagram feed already. It’s one of the most famous spots in Milan and loved by many famous Instagrammers. If you want a picture without a big crowd make sure to go there straight after sunrise.

26. St. Peter’s Church Tower – Munich

You can climb the St. Peter’s Church Tower and enjoy an amazing view over the city from the observation deck. It’s really worth going up the 306 steps!

27. Piazza del Plebiscito – Naples

One of the famous squares in Naples is Piazza del Plebiscito. Whatever way you look when you’re there it’s all incredibly beautiful.

28. Old Town – Nice

Nice is a very colourful city, with lots of little streets and stunning houses. The best street to take pictures is in the Old Town (for instance Rue Saint Hospice) but you’ll find out soon enough that the whole city is very Instagrammable – including the beach promenade!

29. Tour Eiffel – Paris

The Eiffel Tower is the icon of France and no matter where you are around it, you will take brilliant pictures. The most amazing place to go is just across the road at the Carousel of the Eiffel Tower.

30. Dom Luis Bridge – Porto

From the Dom Luis Bridge you have a stunning view over the city. It’s an interesting bridge as it once held the record for the longest iron arch in the world (back in 1886). The bridge starts in Porto and connect the city with Gaia at the opposite side of the river.

31. Old Town Hall Tower – Prague

Prague is a very photogenic city with Charles Bridge as one of the most popular picture spots. However, our all time favourite is the view from the Old Town Hall Tower. From the tower you get amazing views over Prague in all directions, it’s really worth going up there to take some shots!

32. Acropolis of Lindos – Rhodes

When you’re on Rhodes make sure to visit Londos, it’s one of the most instagrammable place of the islands with charming houses and narrow streets. However, the true highlight is the Acropolis of Lindos, an archaeological site with ancient temples and towers.

Rome is full of Instagrammable spots, from the Trevi Fountain to the Roman Forum and Pantheon. However, the one and only most amazing place to photograph is the Colosseum. Go just before sunset to photograph this landmark by both day and night.

Rotterdam is known for its modern architecture. For some good instagram snaps make sure you visit the Cube Houses and the Erasmus Bridge. However, the best view is from the Euromas from where you can look out over the entire city.

36. Kapuzinerkloster Monastery – Salzburg

From the Kapuzinerkloster Monastery you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful views of Salzburg, on a clear day you can even see the snowy mountaintops in the background!

37. Plaza de España – Seville

Plaza de España is a very popular square in Seville and it can get very crowded in summer. However, you get very wide views so you can choose to capture the whole square of focus on details. Our tip: go right after sunrise and you will have the square all to yourself!

Galma Stan is in the old part of Stockholm where you will wander through narrow streets with lots of colourful houses and cosy cafes. The perfect place to go for your Instagram shots is Prästgatan street!

39. Dom – Utrecht

Utrecht is also called Little Amsterdam. It also has the most beautiful canals but is just a lot less crowded with tourists – that’s why we love it. You can take plenty of amazing pictures of the canals with the Dom (the famous church of Utrecht) in the background.

40. Umbracle – Valencia

Umbracle is a botanical garden at a unique location. They even have events there at night, so if you’re looking for a good night out where you can take some good shots, this is the place to be.

41. Schloss Schonbrunn – Vienna, Austria

The famous palace of Princess Sissi is a true Instagram hotspot. You can wander around the gardens (without buying an entrance ticket) and take the most amazing pictures. Make sure to walk all the way to the end of the garden – up the hill – for the best view of the Palace and city.

42. Old Town – Warsaw

The Old Town of Warsaw is very pretty, especially when it snows in winter. You get the best views over it from the observation deck at St. Anne’s Church.

With its colourful rooftop the St Mark’s Church is one of the most beautiful buildings in Zagreb. The street you will walk up to the church is also a great place to take some amazing Instagram pictures.
