Europe’s Famous Hostels Joins the Adopt a Hostel Campaign

Hostels play home to the adventurous, the wanderer, the independent minds while on the road. Even today, most hostels are still independently run, withstanding the test of time and still delivering that at home feeling. Now more than ever, hostels need support to survive. Due its business structure and type, hostel owners have struggled to qualify to funds to help survive the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why the global Adopt a Hostel campaign has kicked off, and Europe’s Famous Hostels has joined as an ambassador.

Adopt a Hostel
The Adopt A Hostel campaign was created by FrontDesk Master, HostelGeeks, Stay The Night, The Budget Traveller, and Hostel.Consulting. The goal is to raise funds for hostels during the crisis. Through a partnership with Gift Up, Adopt A Hostel allows hostels to create vouchers, gift cards, as well as a channel for donations.
Other note-worthy travel industry players like, Hostelworld has also joined as an ambassador. While times might be tough, the pandemic has proven that collaboration is key to recovery.

Famous Hostels and the Industry
Over the past 25 years, Famous Hostels has sought to bond hostel owners, employees, and travellers. We’ve been successful in doing so through industry meet-ups, knowledge exchanges, and cooperation. When Adopt a Hostel was launched, we knew we had to jump onboard.
Since the outbreak, we’ve worked hard to keep our hostels up to date with information regarding funding, regulations, and safety. We do so to keep our hostels inspired and alive, and to ensure our community is supported. Hostel owners face huge challenges, ensuring staff is taken care of while also figuring out local mechanisms of support. Famous Hostels wants to actively support not only our member base, but all hostels involved in this campaign.
For Hostel Owners
If you have not signed up, Adopt a Hostel is totally free of charge. What’s more is that the entire value of the donations goes directly to your account through your favourite gateway.
To start the process, click here. You will then be sent a video tutorial for the registration process. The entire process is non profit, and counts on you to spread the word once your account is settled.
Over the past few weeks Famous Hostels has been organising weekly webinars and discussion boards to help hostels find tools to face this plight and strengthen their business. We are currently working on opening up these discussions to whoever is interested in joining. We believe a strong industry will make for a quicker recovery.
