GO UP

Copenhagen Nightlife

The absolute place to start any night of full on Copenhagen Nightlife is in the Meat Packing District.  The area runs between Copenhagen Central Station and Sønder Boulevard, and since 2000 the area has been regenerated and is now home not only to the city’s liveliest bars and clubs but also art galleries and workshops and some of the city’s best restaurants.

Check out Mesteren&Lærlingen and Jolene Bar, two popular bars filled with locals, both with a unique style and taste in music.  Jolene’s is not as chic and sanitary as some of the Danish bars; here you drink your beer straight from the bottle and lounge on worn out leather sofas.

Rust

Outside the Meat Packing District, Rust is in the Nørrebro area of the city.  It’s Copenhagen’s edgiest nightclub so don’t expect it to be the cleanest place in town; there’s glass on the floor and the toilets are not the cleanest but the music is good and the drinks strong and reasonably priced.  Entry fee can be expensive at up to 15 euros per person at weekends, but guests at Copenhagen Downtown Hostel get free entry!

Vega

Vega doubles up as a live music venue and a late night disco.  This place attracts some pretty big names, so check out their schedule to see who’s coming up.  Drinks are rather expensive so make sure you arrive tanked up!  Vega is famous for its friendly local crowd so if you want to meet locals this is the place to be in terms of Copenhagen Nightlife!

Culture Box

Culture Box is the place for those who love Electro.  Be prepared to wear your soles out to the music which in one night can range from electro, techno and house to drum’n’bass, dub-step and electronic jazz.  They often have not only locals DJs but International DJs playing.  Admission in 70 kr and the club’s opening times at the weekend go from midnight until 6 am, so don’t expect to get much sleep. You’ll find Culture Box on Kronprinsessegade 54.
