das tiny Belgian town is our first suggestion for a romantic European weekend on a budget. The town has designated UNESCO Heritage status, so you know it’s something special. Known as the ‘Venice of the North’ the city’s waterways form it’s heart and are perfectly romantic to stroll alongside. Rent a boat for a romantic ride around the historic canals, or explore the cobbled streets on foot or by bike. Whatever you decide, you’ll be pleased with the romantic atmosphere!
Bruges is a great budget destination because it’s mostly about seeing the preserved buildings and canals. For sightseeing, you can see Burg Square, Markt Square, the Gruuthuse & Museum, and Saint John’s Hospital, dating back to 1188.
If you tire of eating delectable Belgian chocolates, move onto the famous Belgian fries, cheese, and beer.
If this destination interests you, book your room at Bauhaus Hostel – a cosy hostel located in the centre of Bruges. It’s known for its lively bar serving local and international food.
We’ll always have Paris

If you enjoy the dolce vita then visit beautiful Naples on the Amalfi Coast! Nestled on the Mediterranean sea, with winding streets, colourful buildings, and views of Mount Vesuvius, it’s a great place for a romantic European weekend on a budget. It’s arguably also the best place in Italy! Home to amazing seafood and pizza, Naples is a lively place full of Italian charm and beautiful sites. A Neapolitan take on a ‘Roman Holiday’. We love this unique city!

Our last suggestion for a romantic budget weekend is the beautiful city of Sevilla. Walk along the Guadalquivir River for some beautiful views, and enjoy the laid back atmosphere at a street cafe in the pedestrianised centre.
The city is very budget friendly for food and drinks. It’s also home to Flamenco, so don’t miss a passionate live show. And for an extra romantic touch, take a row boat out on the pond at the Plaza de España by the beautiful Parque de María Luisa.
