Barceloneta Beach

The first mention on our Barcelona Beach Guide is Barcelonata Beach. This famous beach has been voted the Best Beach in Barcelona, and the World by the Discovery Channel. so you know it’s great! A firm favourite with Barcelona’s sun-worshippers, it attracts both tourists and locals thanks to it’s proximity to the centre and the thousands of other sights Barcelona has to offer. There’s also an impressive amount of food and drink options at various restaurants, bars, and stands lining the beach. Don’t miss this area at night in the summer months as it’s truly one of the best places to experience Barcelona nightlife.

How to get there:
Metro stop «Barceloneta» (Yellow Line, L4)
Turn right on leaving the metro and cross the main road, continue walking straight along Passeig de Joan de Borbo for about 10 mins. You’ll see the marina area on your right as you walk.

Nova Icària

This beach is a quieter option for those escaping the busy streets of downtown Barcelona. It’s a little further out of the city than Barceloneta, but this helps create its laid-back relaxed atmosphere. It’s a perfect addition for a quieter location in our Barcelona Beach Guide. The beach stretches about 400m, and there’s also a section decked out with wooden ramps for accessibility.

How to get there:
Metro stop «Ciutadella Vila Olimpica» (Yellow Line, L4). Turn right upon exiting the metro and walk towards the twin towers. 10 minutes walk from the metro.

Mar Bella Beach

Feeling Risqué, or maybe just a little European? Mar Bella is Barcelona’s dedicated nudist beach. You don’t have to necessarily strip down, but there are dedicated sections reserved for both preferences. We invite you to visit the beach, but please be respectful of its patrons.

Aside from the nudist option, Mar Bella is one of the most popular beaches for water-sports. kitesurfing, windsurfing, and kayaking. For those who choose the non-nudist section be aware; this beach has a windy reputation so hold on to your suit!
