Vyšehrad

Go see the Vyšehrad Castle on the red metro line. Views of the river from the battlements are superb, and the church and cemetery are well worth a visit. Wander in joy and melancholy or get a beer and a freshly grilled aubergine in the beer garden.

Prague ZOO

If you’re in Prague between May and October you can take a boat from Rašínovo nábřeží all the way to the zoo. I the zoo itself you can see how they are feeding the hippos, washing the elephants or you can take a funicular from the upper part to the lower part of the zoo.

Space for anti-government slogans during Communist years, now grafitti from around the world. Located on Velkoprevoske namesti. (Lesser Quarter, across from French Embassy)

Here you’ll find the Mozart Museum; well worth a visit if only to get out of the tourist crowds in the central old town.  To the south west of the city you’ll find this calm suburb, home of the cafe’ it is said that Mozart and his wife preferred when in town.

Here you’ll find the Staropramen brewery.  Even if you havn’t got time to do the tour (though it’s well worth it for any beer enthusiasts), make sure you head to the bar to get a taste of one of the Czech Republic’s famous ales.  There’s also some great grub on offer, so arrange a tour after lunch time on a full stomach!!
