Don’t be a boring traveller, stray from the ordinary with our selection of ten most instagrammable places in Lisbon:

1. Alfama District

Alfama is the oldest district in Lisbon and is located right in the heart of the city. Known for its old age charm with traditional colourful houses and mazes of narrow cobbled streets, this district offers you instagrammable sights on every corner. Keep your eyes open and pay attention to the minor details – let the multiple colours of Alfama and the constant presence of sunshine inspire you!

2. Painted arch – Rua Norberto de Araújo

Right next to the famous Portas do Sol viewpoint, you can find one of the most instagrammable spots in Lisbon – “The History of Lisbon” painted arch. This mural describes the history of this beautiful city from its foundation until nowadays with funny and colourful cartoons. The location of this painted arch is on Rua Noberto de Araújo.

Just to the right of Portas do Sol, (if you’re facing the river), you can find a staircase leading down to the Southeastern area of the Alfama district. This staircase is the beginning of Rua Norberto de Araújo. After a handful of steps down, you will see an archway on your left. The inside of the arch contains vivid paintings highlighting important moments from Lisbon’s history ?
