Best Neighbourhood in Paris

parisOn the perks of calling any neighbourhood in Paris home is that you will always be surrounded by alluring greenery, happy people and amenities, which make your life simple.  That is why it is almost impossible to point out a specific neighbourhood and describe it as the best neighbourhood in Paris. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect in neighbourhoods considered as the best neighbourhoods in Paris.  They have little to do with affluence as good neighbourhoods are often characterised by affordability, security, convenience and sanitation. Keep in mind that neighbourhoods in Paris are referred to as Arrondissement. The

7th Arrondissement

Strategically located along Left Bank on Rive Gauche, the 7th Arrondissement can be easily described as the best neighbourhood in Paris for a number of reasons.  It boasts of the city’s grandest sites and a village like atmosphere that can only be described as pampering.  Aptly described by tourists as a quintessentially Parisian neighbourhood teeming with charm and beauty, expect a quite time in the 7TH Arrondissement away from the hustle and bustle that characterises some parts of Paris.

The pace of life in 7th Arrondissement is simply relaxed and calm. This allows the locals and visitors to enjoy the neighbourhood’s narrow cobbled streets, street markets, candle-lit bistros and street markets. The Eiffel Tower is a quick drive from the neighbourhood and can be seen lit up at night with all its beauty and charm bursting to life in the dark.

The 6th Arrondissement

In the simplest of words, The 6th Arrondissement is artistic.  It is tucked in the middle of Rive Gauche or Left Bank. It is home to the all-time popular Saint-Germain-des-Pres quartier, Luxembourg Gardens and Latin Quarter.  Streets here are lined with cafes, coffee shops, bakeries and coffee shops, making the neighbourhood a haven for shoppers, coffee drinkers and food lovers.  There are also lots of antique shops, art galleries and art museums, which explain why so many artists and art lovers call the neighbourhood home. To them, the 6th Arrondissement is simply the best neighbourhood in Paris.

The 4th Arrondissement

The neighbourhood’s history dates back to 300 BC. It is home to Ile de la Cite where this history of Paris begins.  It, therefore, should not come as a surprise when historians term The 4th Arrondissement as the best neighbourhood in Paris. It is always full of tourists who are keen to learn a thing or two about the history of Paris and its people.

A highlight of the neighbourhood is how it blends the old and the new with several age old homes lining parts of the neighbourhood with a handful of modern ones. There is the peaceful Place Dauphine, just a few minutes from the neighbourhood where you will find a number of eateries, shops and cafes and flower shops.
