Not only has Barcelonata Beach been voted in the best beaches in Barcelona and in the World by Discovery Channel, but it’s also home to some of the best nightlife Barcelona has to offer.
A firm favourite with Barcelona’s sun-worshippers, it attracts both tourists and locals thanks to it’s proximity to the centre and the thousands of other sights Barcelona has to offer. Don’t miss this area at night in the summer months!
How to get there:
Metro stop “Barceloneta” (Yellow Line, L4)
Turn right on leaving the metro and cross the main road, continue walking straight along Passeig de Joan de Borbo for about 10 minutes. You will see the marina area on your right as you walk.
A quieter option, for those escaping the busy streets of downtown Barcelona. It’s a little further out than Barceloneta, but this helps in creating it’s laid-back relaxed atmosphere.
The beach stretches about 400m, and there is also a section of the beach decked out with wooden ramps for disabled access.
Mar Bella Beach
Feeling Risqué? Mar Bella is Barcelona’s dedicated nudist beach. Nudists have a dedicated area on the beach in which birthday suits are all the welcome.
Not only that but Mar Bella is one of the most popular beaches for water-sports. Kitesurfing, Windsurfing and Kayaking are some of the favourites. For those of you who choose the non-nudist section be aware; this beach has a windy reputation!
