Central Station

While most central train stations in Europe are pretty charming, Rotterdam is one you certainly shouldn’t miss! For those who adore modern architecture, Rotterdam’s central station is a treat. To get the best view of it, check out the rooftop bar at the Groothandelsgebouw. Next to Rotterdam Central, this bar provides awesome views of west Rotterdam and the city boulevard below.

Erasmus Bridge

This iconic bridge is an emblem of Rotterdam and can be seen from the waterfront. The best views are alongside the bridge on Maas Boulevard. The views from the bridge give you a great panorama of the port, and you can enjoy different Rotterdam skyline scenes on either side. We especially recommend coming here at sunset!

If you want to grab a drink and get a photo from a different angle, head to the nhow Hotel. The 7th floor is home to a bar and terrace, offering up some breathtaking views of Rotterdam’s famous Erasmus Bridge.

Home to panoramic viewing platforms, bars, and restaurants, this place is a must visit. You may not be able to quite reach the top of the 185m structure, but from the terrance at 112m, you’ll certainly enjoy some of the best views of Rotterdam!

If you’re not a fan of heights, no problem. You can visit the Laurenskerk, a Middle Ages church located in the city centre. From inside the church tower, you can enjoy views of Rotterdam from a modest height.

Famous Port Views

For an historical and unique Rotterdam experience, we suggest getting onboard the most famous ship in the port. The SS Rotterdam is now permanently docked, but her voyages were once world famous. Her first transatlantic journey was to New York in 1959, and she carried 1200 eager passengers. You can still do tours on the ship, and explore below deck. There are also different bars and restaurants to enjoy, but we recommend Lido Terrace. Complete with swimming pool, it’s a great spot to enjoy some of the best views of Rotterdam.

Views in the Park

Looking for some green, outdoor space? Then head to the lovely main park, Kralingse Bos. The view across the lake is gorgeous and a local favourite. To make an afternoon or evening of it, bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic. You’ll enjoy the serenity of the park, paired with the lake and city skyline in the backdrop. If you’re here in summer, be sure to check out what’s going on in the park as it tends to play host to lots of festivals and events.

If you’re not much of a picnic fan, no worries! Check out the gardens and views at the windmilled De Tuin restaurant, or the lakeside terrace at the peaceful De Schone Lei.
