유명한 호스텔 Eurotrip: 바르셀로나, 스페인

Sunny Barcelona – the 11th and final stop of my month long Famous Hostels Eurotrip!

Barcelona is one of the most trendy and popular cities in Europe. The incredible weather, beaches, tapas bars, architecture, and amazing vibe make it a place you’ll immediately fall in love with.

Getting to Barcelona

From Switzerland, I travelled to Lyon, France using my 인터레일 Global Pass. I took a lunch break in Lyon before catching a direct train to Barcelona. The diversity of landscape between these destinations is incredible – from rough mountain peaks, to the charming French countryside, you see it all before finally reaching Barcelona!

Barceolona

Kabul Party Hostel

I stayed at 카불 호스텔, next to the famous La Rambla. I had a really nice room on the top floor, and the most comfortable bed I could’ve asked for! The hostel’s location is perfect; you can walk or take the metro to any place you’d like to see from here! I definitely recommend this hostel as it offers a delicious, free breakfast, and free dinners! And I can’t say enough good about their walking tours and pub crawls, either!

Since I arrived quiet late, I missed the free hostel dinner on my first night! However, staff recommended a Tapas Bar called Café Central where I could get a delicious and cheap Paella! And even though it was a Sunday night, the streets were full of people! It was nice to see everyone out enjoying themselves.

My Time in Barcelona

The next morning I did a walking tour and visited Gaudi’s most beautiful architectural masterpieces in Barcelona. The tour started in front of the hostel at Plaza Real, where you can see one of Gaudi’s masterpieces!

Gaudi is Barcelona’s biggest architectural influencer, and you can find examples all over the city. We learned about his work and visited Palau Güell, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, Park Güell, and Sagrada Familia. The latter isn’t actually finished yet, and won’t be for another 9(!) years.

After the tour I went to Plaza de España to see Palau Nacional, one of the most stunning buildings in Barcelona. As I walked around the area I met some other travellers and joined them in El Poble Sec – a lively area with amazing tapas bars.

We did a “tapas crawl” – like a pub crawl, but you replace beer with tapas, wine, and sangria! It was a lot of fun and I really liked the vibe in the city, delicious food and nice people!

Goodbye Barcelona…?

After a really fun night out I woke up early to pack my bag one last time! I had breakfast and chatted with staff before I left. They’re such a friendly bunch! Truthfully, I was very sad to leave and didn’t want the trip to end. Barcelona left such an impression on me I decided to stay for a couple of months!

바르셀로나

I hope you enjoyed following my Eurotrip! I stayed at 11 amazing hostels in 10 countries and visited beaches, glaciers, ancient temples, and colourful harbours. And I did it all with a Interrail Global Pass – allowing me to see the best of Europe from my train window!
