Main Attractions in Seville

Of course you’re probably wondering, ‘what can I do in Seville?’. That’s why you’re here!

So let’s start for the most obvious: its main attractions. Most of 세비야’s iconic buildings and tourist sites are free of charge or accessible for only a few euros. Which makes it perfect for keeping your trip low budget.

La Giralda

A bell tower and the most characteristic landmark on Seville’s skyline. Nested on Seville’s Cathedral and registered as one of UNESCO world heritage sites is a must-see for everyone visiting. For only 9 Euros you can gain access to Seville’s cathedral and La Giralda.

Pro tip: don’t forget to bring comfy shoes. To visit the top of the tower you have to climb 35 floors, but the views are totally worth it!

Setas de la Encarnacion

A modern art structure built in 2011 inspired in the cathedral of Seville. It has become one of the signature sights of the city, not only stunning from below but also from above. You can access its upper deck for 360 views of Seville for only 3EUR.

Pro tip: visit at sunrise or sunset for the best views and photos!

Plaza de España

A semi-circular Renaissance/neo-Moorish building built for the expo of 1929 located in the heart of the beautiful Maria Luisa Park. Entrance is free of charge. Plaza de España is also used sometimes as a location for films, such as Star Wars: Episode II-Attack of the Clones, and The Dictator.

Pro tip: Due to safety, when there are bad weather predictions Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España are usually closed. I suggest to check the weather forecast ahead!

Royal Alcazar

Another of Seville’s UNESCO world heritage sites. This Moorish royal palace filled with dreamy gardens, decorated arches, and fountains, showcases a very unique blend of architectural styles making it by far my TOP must-see in Seville. This is the most expensive attraction with a general entrance of 12,5EUR but it is totally worth it!

Tapas and Bars

If you find yourself getting tired of walking, I get it! After all, there are lots of things to see in Seville! My favourite way to escape the Spanish sun is to find a bar and grab a cold beer and some tapas. The Spanish bar tradition has a long history, and El Rinconcillo is living proof. This tapas bar dates back to 1670, making it one of the longest standing bars in Seville.

Pro tip: their star dish is Solomillo de Iberico con salsa a la Sevillana/ Iberian pork sirloin with Sevillian style sauce. Their traditional Sevillian cuisine won’t disappoint you!

And we can’t forget La Bodega del Dos de Mayo. While it’s seriously younger than El Rinconcillo (opened in 1985), it deserves a mention as it’s a personal, and local favourite tapas bar. Their mouth-watering tapas has won them several features in world renowned travel & food guides, such as the Michelin Guide, and Le Routard, to name a few. Their success has also granted them a successful expansion of tapas bars around Seville. If you can, try to also check out their Casa La Viuda location as it’s a rising star in the Seville gastronomic scenery.

Pro tip: don’t leave without ordering their Nido de bacalao y espinacas/Cod nest with spinach. It’s a must-try!

If you prefer something a little less traditional, you can always join the new European gourmet market trend. Pay a visit to El Mercado de la lonja. It’s the perfect place to taste authentic Spanish cuisine with a modern twist. And it’s in the most chic and Insta-worthy environment, so it’s certainly worth checking out!

Where to Stay in Seville

If you want a budget-friendly option in the heart of the city, then 오아시스 백 패 커 궁전 세비야 is the place for you! Centrally located, the friendly staff at Oasis will ensure you get warm welcome and a lovely stay. The rooms proved to be spacious, comfortable, and sparkling clean. All key factors in today’s new world of travelling!

Oasis offers three breakfast options, which is a great way to kick start your day before heading out! They offer an English breakfast, a Spanish breakfast, and a healthy breakfast. Each option also comes with coffee, tea, and juice. I went for the healthy option, which was quite flavourful and filling. Breakfast is served daily from 8-11, and is only 3,5EUR.

The amenities at Oasis are pretty great as well. The very chic rooftop is fully equipped with a swimming pool and lounge area, and is the perfect place to cool off from the summer heat with a sangria. In general, the very cool vibe around the hostel makes Oasis Backpackers Palace the perfect base for all your adventures in Seville!
