Warsaw Vegan Food Guide

See where to eat and what to try with our Warsaw Vegan Food Guide! With more than 50 vegan restaurants in the Polish capital, you’ll have plenty of choice.

The Polish capital is a hot spot for a variety of kitchens, and vegan food can be found everywhere in Warsaw. And while Polish food is rather heavy on the meat, there are lots of new versions to accommodate vegan diets. Warsaw is home to a variety of restaurants, so read on to see where to eat in our Warsaw vegan food guide!

Polish Cuisine

It makes sense to start our Warsaw vegan food guide with Polish food! Like we mentioned earlier, Polish food traditionally incorporates a lot of meat, but vegan variations are now becoming more widely available. At Lokal Vegan Bistro you can try “schabowy” (vegan cutlet), with potatoes and seasonal salad. They also have a vegan zapiekanka which is highly recommended.

In Vege Bistro, we recommend vegan “kaszanka” (blood sausage), which apparently tastes quite similar to the real deal. For a main course, you can choose between pierogis, cutlets, fried vegan ‘duck”, or Hungarian potato cake with stew and cream.

Middle Eastern Food

Warsaw isn’t just about vegan Polish food though; the city is home to lots of different kitchens, including some fantastic Middle Eastern ones. Our favourite restaurants include Beirut, Vegan na Moliera, or Tel Aviv, all of which serve up delicious falafels, hummus, shakshuka and other delicacies.

Asian Food

If you prefer Asian vegan food while in Warsaw, then you’ll have plenty of options to choose from! There are a few vegan sushi places, like Youmiko or Edamame (one of the top rated restaurants in Warsaw), and both have impressive selections of rolls and other dishes.

If you want to try some nice Asian soups, we recommend a visit to Loving Hut, especially the Thai soup. If you’re more into ramen, head to the Vegan Ramen Shop. Our current staff favourite is Vege Kitchen, and we recommend the Thai crispy cutlets!

Italian Food

No matter where you roam in the world, you can pretty much always find an Italian place. Our favourite is Leonardo Verde with their fantastic pizzas and lasagnas. But if you’d rather spend a night in, then we recommend ordering from Night Pizza Factory.

Fusion

Fusion restaurants are all the rage, and it’s always fascinating to combine two or more very different food cultures into one. Warsaw has loads of these places, so you have tons of opportunity to try them out. Wegemama is inspired by Asian cuisine, and Vegelabb is a great place for Buddha Bowls inspired by various cultures. Lastly, you can also give Vege Miasto close to the Old Town a try for their delicious lunches and desserts.

아침 식사 & Sweets

The Warsaw vegan food guide would be incomplete without touching on breakfast and sweets! Indulge in a hearty breakfast at Nancy Lee, which will energise you to climb to the 30th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science if you’d rather skip the elevator!

As for sweets, you won’t have to go without in Warsaw. If you’re in the mood for some ice cream, check out Lokal dela Krem. And if you want some cakes, cookies, or other sweets, we recommend Physalis.

Burgers

And last on our Warsaw vegan food guide are the dearly loved burgers. Our favourite place is Krowarzywa, where you can get a variety of vegan burgers,, kebabs, and hot dogs. It was also the very first vegan burger place in Warsaw!

Another great vegan burger place is Chwast Food; it’s smaller and not as popular as Krowarzywa, but much cosier. Our last recommendation for vegan burgers in Warsaw is Mango Vegan Street Food.

Where to Stay in Warsaw

Our top recommendation in Warsaw is Oki Doki Hostel. With an unbeatable location, a popular bar, and amazing, free activities, you’ll quickly see why it’s a top recommendation. The atmosphere here is buzzing, and they even host a weekly pierogi making workshop.
