5 Reasons to Stay at Europe’s Famous Hostels: My Travel Tricks Eurotrip
Hostels can make or break your travel experience, so here’s 5 reasons to stay at Europe’s Famous Hostels!
They have 37 locations across 20 European countries, and Israel. My name is Daisy and I run My Travel Tricks!
Hostels should always be a place you’re excited to return to at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. They’re extra special when you meet other travellers and make lasting memories. It’s also a bonus if they’re well located! Seems like a lot to ask for, right? Not with Europe’s Famous Hostels!
Over the course of a month, I visited 11 of Europe’s Famous Hostels in 10 different countries. I went to Athens, Rome, Nice, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Berlin, Vienna, Interlaken, and Barcelona – and did it all by train with my Global Interrail Pass! Each hostel welcomed me like a friend, so without further ado, here are 5 reasons you should stay at Europe’s Famous Hostels!
1. Best Locations
All hostels are well located – close to the main sites and restaurants. The staff always helped me to find the best places to go and helped make my trip incredible! Due to their fantastic locations, sightseeing and getting around was simple and cheap!
2. Great facilities
When you travel for an extended period of time, you eventually want to wash your clothes. Europe’s Famous Hostels understands this! They always offer lockers for your valuables, as well as laundry facilities.
But it doesn’t stop there. All of these hostels have in house bars, have weekly activities, and offer free meals! Some of my favourite perks was the hot tub at Balmer’s Hostel in Interlaken, and the rooftop bar looking at AthensStyle in Athens.
3. Popular with backpackers
One of the reasons I love to travel is to meet new people, and hostels are the perfect breeding grounds for new friendships! Popular hostels such as St. Christopher’s Inn in Paris Canal, St. Christopher’s Village London, e o Flying Pig Hostel in Amsterdam were all very social! In fact, when I mentioned Albergue no Centro de Copenhaga to an elderly man I met in the train, even he recommended the hostel to me!
4. Amazing staff
What truly makes a great hostel is the staff. When you walk into a hostel it’s so nice to be welcomed with a smile and a sense of belonging. I especially love it when staff joins guests for a drink or two. I had a great experience with the amazing bar staff at Alessandro Palace in Rome. And it’s extra cool when the staff also lead walking tours, like I experienced in Nice! Matt works at Villa Saint Exupery Beach Hostel, and hosted the best walking tour I’ve ever been on!
5. Cleanliness
Even though it’s all about the vibe, people, and location cleanliness is so important. I love sleeping in a clean bed and bathroom facilities. This is a hugely important feature of Europe’s Famous Hostels – they value it as much as we do! I’d like to give a shout out to Hostel Ruthensteiner in Vienna for exceptional cleanliness!
After a month of travelling, I can personally recommend to anyone that a stay at Europe’s Famous Hostels will exceed your expectations! I think my 5 reasons to stay with Europe’s Famous Hostels are pretty good!
And once again, I’d like to thank the staff for being such incredible hosts! I’ll be back soon!
