This had to be first on our guide to Prague’s best ‘sweet’ treats. Why? Trdelnik is a famous dessert in Prague and is an absolute must try! But we need to be honest with you: this tasty treat isn’t even Czech, but it won’t stop us from eating and recommending it!

This brioche-like treat is next on our guide to Prague’s best ‘sweet’ treats. Initially considered a wedding dessert, they can be found all over the country now and are an absolute dream. While they’re typically made with a poppy seed filling, you can find other flavours such as apricot, blueberry, strawberry jam, and white, sweet cheese. Surprisingly, Kolač isn’t overly sweet, so if you don’t want a sugar crash, this is a great option.

It doesn’t get any more traditional than Czech buns Buchta. In old Czech fairy tales, heroes baked them before going on a mysterious adventure. These square buns of sweet dough can be either filled with white sweet cheese or home-several varieties of jam. Although it’s not uncommon to go for the plain soft buns that just melt in your mouth.
