Once walking all day through the city, there is nothing better than some yummy food or a drink. There are many restaurants and bars close by.

Don’t get us wrong, Austria is famous for it’s Schnitzel, Applestrudel and many more but sometimes Backpackers just want to have an international cuisine. Here we have listed our top 7 international restaurants in the city of Salzburg.

RESTAURANTS

myIndigo (Asian)

Healthy fast food, curries, sushi, noodles, soups and salads (6-7€ for a main dish). Very cozy, free wifi. Mon-Sat 11am-10pm, Sun 12pm-9pm, closed on public holidays. Auerspergstraße 10 & Rudolfskai 8.

Taj Mahal (Indian)

The Jewel of India in the middle of Salzburg. An extensive menu of your favourite curry dishes. A large wine and beverage menu. Great atmosphere. Only 2-3 minutes walking distance from the Hostel! Sun-Fri 11.30am-2pm & 5.30pm-10pm, Sat 5.30pm-10pm. Bayerhammerstraße 13.

Ludwig’s (American)

Ludwig serves proper hamburgers in a stylish yet relaxing atmosphere. On the menu you will find primarily burgers and matching side dishes – vegetarian and vegan options are also available as well as delicious salads and desserts. Homemade lemonades, regional craft beer and ciders aren’t to be missed out on. Exclusively organic meat from Tyrolean beef is used. Tue-Fri 11am-10pm, Sat-Sun 9am-10pm. Bruderhof/Linzer Gasse 39.

Pasta&Vino (Italian)

Small family run Italian restaurant. Amazing homemade pasta at a good price. Three new pasta dishes every day (no pizza). Mon-Sat 11am-9pm, Sun & public holiday 12pm-9pm. Wolf-Dietrich-Straße 31.

Organic Pizza (Italian)

A small, friendly, family run pizzeria serving delicious pizzas made from 100% organic ingredients. They cater for vegans and vegetarians as well as meat lovers. We believe the best taste is achieved by baking with love and the best ingredients! Come and enjoy!

Open Tuesday 5-10pm, Wednesday – Saturday 12am-10pm. Franz-Josef-Straße 24A.

Heart of Joy (A bit of everything)

Especially good for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free and raw food eaters. Delicious breakfast, lunch, homemade cakes and organic coffee! Also for take away. 10% discount for students & free wifi. Mon-Sun 8am-7pm. Franz-Josef-Straße 3.

BARS

JazzIt

Awarded several times by the Downbeat Magazine as “Great Jazz Venue” worldwide, the internationally renowned Jazzit:Musik:Club offers a diverse range of music from jazz, improvisational and world music to electronic music. Tuesdays feature jam sessions, Wednesdays offer the DJ-Line “Homebase” (admission free). Tue-Sat from 6pm, Elisabethstraße 11.

Shamrock

The first original Irish Pub in Salzburg. Daily live music and live sports on XXL screens. On Tuesday we have our famous karaoke night. Come in and check out our large selection of whiskeys and ciders, food served until closing time. A must for every visitor in Salzburg!

O’Malleys

Real traditional Irish pub with english speaking staff. Do not miss the pub quiz on Mondays and the weekly karaoke on Thursday! Join the student night on Wednesday. We’ve got great Beers from Ireland, Austria and Munich. Mon-Thu & Sun 8pm – late, Fri & Sat 8pm-4am. Rudolfskai 16.

Celtic Spirit

Celtic Spirit Irish Pub: great beers, even greater whiskeys and the greatest, all English speaking staff are happy to serve you. Less than 10 minutes walking distance from the Hostel. Irish owned & run. The only pub in town open everyday till 4 a.m. Mon-Sun 5pm-4am. Priesterhausgasse 22.

CAFES

220° Cafe

Small but nice coffeehouse in the middle of the old town. Enjoy the home roasted coffee (also suitable for a small souvenir from Salzburg), lay back and set your soul free. Tue-Fri 9am-7pm, Sat 9am-6pm. Chiemseegasse 5.

Wernbacher Cafe

One of Salzburg‘s authentic coffeehouses, founded in 1953. Wernbacher serves breakfast, traditional coffeehouse cuisine and typical cakes. This local institution makes any visit to Salzburg complete. Mon-Sat 9am-12am, Sun 9am-6pm. Franz-Josef-Straße 5.

Leimüller Bakery

Cafe Leimueller is one of Salzburg’s best coffee and pastry shops with daily fresh and homemade goods, only five mins walking from YoHo’s. Also ask for gluten-free and bio-products. Daily from 6.30am to 8pm. Linzer Gasse 55.
