Sidecar
If you like your food buffet style then get along to Sidecar in trendy Nørrebro. This joint spends half it’s time as an Asian street food place but brunch time and all weekend sees a buffet selection as self service, and then a choice of brunches made to order from American pancakes to eggs and bacon (and a whole selection of fruits and yoghurts). From a bargain price 159Kr!
Cafe Europa 1989
This is not a shoestring option. You can’t miss this place right in the city centre on Amagertorv with a very European vibe and terrace seats outside. Despite being central, the brunch menu is reasonably priced considering the size of the plates, and they have home-roasted coffee and eco-friendly and biodynamic ingredients.
It’s not cheap, but we can’t get enough of the Nordic Brunch here- including smoked salmon, bacon and omelette, cloudberries and cheese and Nordic sausage. There’s also a great Vegan Brunch with hummus and fruit polenta.
Cafe Norden
If you want to splash out, this elegant and historic hangout is a great place for coffee on the terrace or lunch on their stylish first floor with a view. Serving up huge portions using fresh and natural ingredients – the brunch deal here is a good value for an upmarket restaurant, with the option for a glass of fizz included. Tuck into eggs and bacon as well as yoghurt and fruit. It’s filling! But also not for those on a budget.
The Union Kitchen
Waffle and croissant heaven, this trendy spot is also good quality and generous with their brunch options. Choose Grace’s granola or the full Monty Brunch plate with everything from 175dk. With a terrace for warm days, it’s a great place to get your morning going.
Cafe Bang and Jensen
With locally baked bread and homemade dishes, this is a popular local spot. Delicious food is served all day here and it’s open late – when the cocktails and DJs take over. For over 20 years this cosy cafe has been dishing up breakfast in this former pharmacy.
Mad & Kaffe
There are 3 branches of this trendy brunch spot and each has a neighbourhood feel, but we like the original Vesterbro cafe the best – and they’ve won awards for best cafe in Copenhagen, so you don’t need to take our word for it. You can create your own breakfast to make a breakfast board, and their freshly baked bread is ecological. As you would expect- the coffee is great!
Cafe Dyrehaven
Pull up a chair pavement-side and enjoy this popular café in Vesterbro. They have a late breakfast menu at the weekends so you can tuck into eggs or traditional open sandwiches along with a choice of tasty treats. Try the Avocado Mousse with chilli and almonds for 55kr or Eggs Benedict with spinach from 88kr.
Paludan Book & Cafe
Check out this must-see for book lovers in the old Jewish Quarter on Fiolstræde. Here you can enjoy a full brunch menu while you read the latest fiction. This was formerly a book publisher as well as a book shop, and now it’s a tasty place to enjoy breakfast surrounded by books!
