1. Casa do Fado
Before hitting one of the many Fado clubs in Bairro Alto or Alfama a trip to the Casa do Fado e da Guitarra Portuguesa is a good place to start. Its audiovisual displays allows you to get lost in the sights and sounds of the bluesy, melancholic sounds of Portugal. The tour ends with a moving, virtual performance.
While the Alfama district is the home and birthplace of Fado, many of the venues are quite touristy and can be expensive. We suggest Bairro Alto for some non-touristy Fado venues. There’s a free Fado show at “Tasca do Chico” every Monday & Wednesday.
2. Feira da Ladra Market
This is one of the best flea markets in Lisbon! Browse through old wristwatches, clothes, vinyl, and more at this entertaining and funky extravaganza. You’re bound to find something to capture your imagination and bring home as a cool souvenir. The market happens every Tuesday morning and Saturdays.

3. Visit Chapitô à mesa
This is Lisbon’s Circus School, but offers more than just entertainment. Its in the Castelo district and the patio offers spectacular views of the city and river. The venue is home to three separate establishments, so there’s really a place for everyone here!
