Not only is this popular festival a 5 day celebration of music – Primavera Sound hosts workshops, parties, and shows in sunny Barcelona! The main events take place at the Forum on the beach, but there’s several locations throughout the city, including some free ones! Former headliners have included Tame Impala, A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, The Strokes, Radiohead, and LCD Soundsystem, just to name a few. It’s the perfect festival to kick off your party season!
Where to Stay in Barcelona
If you’re looking for a hostel notorious for a great party and welcoming atmosphere, then we recommend booking a room at Kabul Party Hostel, located only 20 mins from the beach! And since coming to Barcelona to party, this hostel couldn’t be more suited. You’ll love the vibe here!
Prague Fringe Festival

Catch one of the over 200 scheduled performances and be part of the festivities!

Having a comfy and inviting place to call home in between festival days is important. That’s why we recommend Czech Inn, located in Vinohrady, as your host for your stay in Prague. This gorgeous design hostel has an All You Can Eat Breakfast Buffet, a bar with daily activities and a Happy Hour, comfortable social areas, and more. Did we mention Check Out is at 12pm?
Wave Gotik Treffen
Where: Leipzig, Germany
When: The second last weekend in May
Regarded as the world’s biggest Gothic festival, the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig had to be on our list for the top European festivals in Spring. The festival hosts about 20, 000 enthusiasts annually, and is a long weekend filled with music, events, costumes, fetish parties, and more. Festival attendees typically dress up in their preferred Gothic costume, and the city turns ‘dark’ for a few days! Festival attendees are also entitled to free public transportation, and free entrance to some museums during the festival. Leipzig loves Wave Gotik Treffen!
Where to Stay in Leipzig
Our top recommendation in Leipzig is Five Elements Hostel, located in the Alt Stadt. With a generous selection of rooms, you’ll get a taste of luxury here. They also have a great bar, which is popular with the locals, so you know the atmosphere is great. If you’re feeling ritzy, why not book a penthouse suite?
Where: Berlin, Germany
Calling all hard rock and metal heads! Berlin is known for a party, and it’s not just about the electronic music. DesertFest features over 50 bands at various venues, art exhibitions, beer gardens, and markets all around Berlin. From Thursday until Sunday, there’s no shortage of events to rock out to. If you’re a fan of hard rock and heavy metal this is a festival you certainly won’t want to miss!
Where to Stay in Berlin
Berlin is home to lots of different kinds of neighbourhoods, but our favourite is Friedrichshain in East Berlin. Book accommodation at Sunflower Hostel, minutes away from the Berlin Wall and tons fo great Berlin clubs. It’s also extremely well located for all the events in the city!

Where to Stay in Nice
Our top recommendation for accommodation is to stay in nearby Nice and book at Villa St. Exupery Beach Hostel.
