Even if it’s on the tourist trail – it’s not one to miss!
2.The Hirschgarten
的 Hischgarten is the world’s largest beer garden, with enough seats for 8,000 lucky people. This doesn’t mean you’ll be waiting forever for your round – they’re hot on great service. Some of the beers are an impressive 7.9%, so be careful with your consumption! This place is of course well-trodden on the tourist route, but with a history dating back to 1791, it’s also like ticking off a museum, right?
3. The Max Emanuel Brauerei (Max E)
Located in the heart of the student area, Max E is a great place for students and the young at heart to mingle over a cool drink. There’s also a beer hall inside and food served, but with 700 seats outside there should be enough space for you to enjoy an evening alfresco (open 11am to 11pm). Enjoy the international vibe from the nearby university and pull up a chair!
4. The Aumeister Biergarten
The smaller and more exclusive Aumeister Biergarten in the park serves up Hofbrau to the crowds, and was once a garden reserved for royalty! There’s are also live music events throughout the summer. If you’re more into smaller crowds, then get yourself down to Aumeister – a great spot to grab a sausage, a beer, and enjoy the fresh air.
5.The Viktualienmarkt
The beer garden in the Viktualienmarkt is special in that it allows you to bring in your own food, and serves a variety of beers each week. With over 100 market stalls located a stone’s throw away, you’re bound to find yourself making a picnic of it.
