About the Valencia Community Moto Grand Prix

The Valencia Community Moto Grand Prix takes place over 3 days every year in mid November. Fans from all over the world come to see the best in the sport compete for the event title. Depending on where you want to sit, tickets can range anywhere from 40 – 180€, so they don’t necessarily come cheap. And don’t leave purchasing to the last minute as tickets tend to go fast!

About the Circuit

The Circuit Ricardo Tormo is one of the best circuits on the scene. It’s named after the Two-Time 50cc World Champion of 50 cc, Ricardo Tormo, who was the first Valencian to capture a world title. He sadly died in 1998 after losing a battle against Leukemia, and the circuit stands as a way to pay homage to his life and career. The circuit also has two more corners dedicated to Jorge Martinez Aspar and Angel Nieto, who both heavily contributed to Spain’s reputation in the Moto Grand Prix scene.

It has also won several prizes in the Motorcycle World Championship, capturing the title of, ‘Best Track in the World’ in 2003, 2004, and 2006 respectively. Circuit Ricardo Tormo has a capacity for an impressive 120,000 fans, including 65,000 seats. No matter where you end up, you’ll have a complete view of the entire route.

How to Get to the Event

While Valencia hosts the event, Circuit Ricardo Tormo is located a bit outside the city. However, it’s easily accessible whether you’re travelling by car or public transport.

By car: Leave 瓦伦西亚 via Avenida del Cid and take the A-3 in the direction of Madrid. Continue for 20 km, and take Exit 334 (Urbanizaciones – Circuito). Soon after, you’ll see directions for the Circuit. Depending on traffic, the journey should take around 30 mins.

By public transportation: Normally, this journey would be difficult. But during the Grand Prix, the C-3 line runs to the Circuit’s station. Take the C-3 suburban train (Renfe Cercanías). It’s an excellent alternative for spectators, especially if driving isn’t an option and you want to indulge in a few Spanish beers beforehand. The ride takes about 50 mins and costs anywhere from 6-9€. Alternatively, you can take a bus for 3€, but it takes roughly the same amount of time.

Valencia in November

Valencia has great weather all year round, even though the Moto Gran Prix is in November. Average daily highs are around 20°C, and nightly lows of 8°C. However, rain is also fairly uncommon in Valencia, so even though it might not necessarily be 海滩 weather, at least you know you’ll be dry. In any case, be sure to pack your sunscreen when you attend the event!
