2. Belém Tower
While this is a rather popular tourist spot, it’s one of our favourite Instagrammable places in Lisbon! Belém Tower is a 16th century fortification, and one of Lisbon’s most precious landmarks. Classified as an UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983, Belém Tower makes for an incredibly beautiful spot for photos. Entrance to the tower is 6€, or free with a Lisbon card. And we recommend heading inside. The interior architecture and rooftop views make this place well worth it for Instagram shots. But if you want to skip the inside and visit without the crowds, come in the early morning.
3. Miradouro Sana Luzia
This breathtaking viewpoint is one of our favourite Instagrammable places in Lisbon. Whether you’re a sunrise, or sunset fan, it’s a treat all the time! However, if you plan to visit in the evenings, you can expect crowds. But don’t let that deter you from checking it out if you’re in the area. The vibe at sunset is something you just can’t get in the early morning. So like most spots, come in the early morning if you want to avoid the crowds!
4. Praca Dos Restauradores
Lisbon isn’t just about the maze of winding streets. It’s also home to beautiful, open squares perfect for your Instagram feed. Praca Dos Restauradores is one of the tastiest Instagrammable places in Lisbon. You’ll likely find yourself here in pursuit of lunch, dinner, or sweet treats, but don’t leave without snapping a few shots first! The variety in facades, colours, shapes, and tile work will definitely bring your Instagram feed to life.
5. Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara
Lisbon is alternatively known as the ‘City of Seven Hills’, so as you may guess, there are plenty of noteworthy viewpoints to check out! One of our favourites is Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, which also happens to be another great recommendation for Instagrammable places in Lisbon. From here, you can admire the view over terracotta rooftops, and rolling hills. And if you come by in the afternoon, it’s a nice place to have a picnic!
6. Elevador da Bica (Funicular)
One of the most famous features of Lisbon are the yellow trams, specifically elevador da Bica! This tram line is easily one of the most popular Instagrammable places in Lisbon, and will add the perfect shade of yellow to your feed. The tram runs up one of the steepest slopes in Lisbon, so don’t say you weren’t warned! But it’s not just the funicular you’ll want to photograph; wander down any side street and you’ll discover Instagram worthy scenes everywhere!
7. Cais do Sodré (a.k.a. The Pink Street)
Cais do Sodré – alternatively known as The Pink Street – is one of the most photogenic spots in Lisbon! During the day, the street is filled with tourists and Instagrammers alike all after the perfect shot, so like most hot spots, we recommend coming early in the morning. But once you’re done roaming around the city all day, be sure to come back at night as it’s a pretty happening spot for great nightlife!
8. LX Factory
For one of the more alternative Instagrammable places in Lisbon, we recommend checking out LX Factory. Located almost directly under Lisbon’s famous bridge, this is one of the most creative hubs in the city. Tucked away in an old factory, it’s known as one of the coolest spots in the city, and feels like a mini-neighbourhood. It houses restaurants, startup hubs, art exhibitions, libraries, cafes, and so much more. Is it any wonder we’ve included such a creative spot on our list?!
9. Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT)
Looking to change it up with some modern architecture? The Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology (MAAT) is one of our favourite Instagrammable places in Lisbon when it comes to this style. Located on the river front, you won’t be able to escape the grandeur of this landmark. In order to get the best shots here, we recommend coming just before sunset. The building glows with a golden light and offers interesting shadows and lines to make your Instagram shots one of a kind!

10. Praça do Comércio
And last on our list of the most Instagrammable places in Lisbon is Praça do Comércio! This huge square is bordered by Bairro Alto, Alfama, and the shores of the Tagus River. Known locally as Terrerio do Paço, the square was remodelled in the 18th century after the great Lisbon Earthquake, so it holds lots of cultural relevance to the city. And Praça do Comércio is a breathtaking spot. Characterised by yellow palaces and a grand arch, you’ll find plenty of spots here to get the perfect shot.
Where to Stay in Lisbon
Our top recommendation and favourite hostel is Lisbon’s famous Oasis Backpackers Mansion, conveniently located in Barrio Alto. Whether you’re travelling solo, or as a couple, you’ll feel at home at Oasis with their friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and great common areas for socialising. Oasis also offers several activities, including free dinners, food walking tours, pub crawls, and street art tours. It’s also a pretty great Instagrammable place in Lisbon.
