Hyve Hostel

Nice welcome, good service from the big guy at reception. Free bus pass for transport to the airport (20min). 5min walk from the train station and bus 50 to get to the airport. It passes every 6 minutes from 4 a.m. Very clean and well appointed place. Apartments available next door.

Central location, very close to the train station. It was ideally located for our large group. Shared rooms were fine, unfortunately they cannot be darkened. Showers and toilets in the hallway were fine. In my opinion, it's completely fine for sleeping, for a longer period of time and for feeling good. Completely sufficient for short stays to sleep.

The staff is very friendly, it is close to public transport and with the room you get the Basel Card. In addition, there is a shared kitchen and it helps you save a lot of money on meals.

The location is perfect, the shared bathrooms and kitchen are clean (although one of the fridge’s was leaking inside and all the food was wet). The hotel is safe. The rooms are sound proof. Make sure you pay attention: check in time is 15.00! If you arrive earlier and plan to hang out in the lobby, know that the hotel is locked before 7.00, you won’t be able to come in!

I had a lovely stay at the Hyve. It was a light open common space, with lots of seating in the courtyard. My room was clean and had a large window. They had a nice list of restaurants & activities that they recommend which I appreciated. (I loved the kunstmuseum!) As a female solo backpacker I felt very safe there. The staff were also very kind :) I would recommend this hostel to a friend!

Modern hotel with coworking area. Close to the FFS station and St.Margarethen park. The rooms are functionally furnished and are clean and quiet. I had a room with a shared bathroom and the toilets are very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Absolutely recommendable.

Excellent accommodation! Clean and comfortable hostel with many tastefully furnished common areas. Well, perhaps the only negative point is the only two bathrooms available on each floor, but in each room there is a sink which helps you a lot. Independent checkin and checkout via email.

I was last December in a double room with a private bathroom and it was very good. It also has European plugs, so there is no need to bring an adapter. The only thing that surprised me a little is that you can't enter the room until 3:00 pm and you have to leave the room before 10:00 am. They have a locked room where you can leave your suitcases. And I really liked that they give you a card when you arrive at the hotel so you can travel for free on the tram.

Superb location Close to the train station (5 min) and in a residential area. New room with excellent value for money. Small defect, the lighting in the bathroom was permanent... small defect in the cell testing the presence was faulty.

Great hostel, clean and quiet. Very convenient location 15 minutes walk from the centre. Good and plentiful breakfast. Public services and wifi in the city included in the price. Organic shower shampoo in the showers. I advise!

Wonderful, very good bar and kitchen

The hostel is located a few minutes from Basel's central train station, but somewhat removed from the center and the river (a walk of about 30 minutes). In my case, I shared a mixed room with 8 beds, everything was quite quiet. The lockers are inside the room, quite spacious. At reception you must leave a deposit of CHF 10 so that they can leave you a padlock and the key, if you want to use it. They return your money without problem upon departure. The rooms are quite spacious and bright, and include a sink inside the room itself. The bathrooms and common areas are quite clean. Upon arrival you are given a free transportation card that is valid until 11:59 p.m. on the day of check out. In my case, I used it to go to the airport by bus, since the rest of the city allows you to move around easily and see everything on foot. . IMPORTANT: if you book through Hostelworld, although it tells you when confirming the reservation that it includes all taxes and fees, it only refers to VAT, the city taxes are paid directly to the hotel (about 3 CHF per person per night)

Wonderful hostel. Clean, tidy and organised. In the relaxation area, coffee, chamomile and various types of tea available all day, long comfortable corner sofa, billiard table, large tables with chairs and benches, many electrical sockets available. There is a small garden with deckchairs. If I were to return to Basel, I would stay here again. Excellent location, quiet 300m from the station.
