How does it work?
Our Eco-Wanderer campaign is a project focused on sustainable tourism. In partnership with ユーレイル, and FlixBus, we developed a Carbon Emissions calculator that converts your CO2 offset by picking trains or buses over planes and converting it to direct discounts in hostels.
We believe it is up to us, travelers and service providers, to create a greener future for tourism, and this is our contribution. We hope to motivate travelers to reflect on their travel choices and their impact on the environment.
We developed an online calculator app that enables users to calculate their carbon emissions generated while travelling from one destination to another, comparing the offsets between travelling by train or bus over plane. Based on the amount saved, our visitors receive a direct discount on the price of their stay at one of our hostels.
How does the CO2 Saver Calculator Work?
The process is very simple.
Users can find the calculator above, or log into eco.famoushostels.com, enter the starting point of their journey, select any Famous Hostels destination from our list, and their discount by clicking on “Calculate my Offset”.
Once you have your discount forecast, log in to our platform with your Eurail or FlixBus ticket, and reservation code from your reservation at one of our hostels.
You will receive your conversion certificate via email (QR code). Allowing you to validate at your chosen Famous Hostel’s reception and claim your discount. Don’t forget to share with your friends and get even more discounts!
