1. Hamburg – burgers & fries
Location: Witte de Withstraat 94B, Rotterdam
Opening hours: Sun to Thu 16:00 – 22:00; Fri & Sat 16:00 – 23:00
Going with a big group? Here you can be sure that all of you will leave satisfied. Hamburg also offers vegetarian and vegan options. Freshly served burgers made from the best quality ingredients with homemade sauces. When it comes to prices, burgers differ from €10 to €15. In addition, you can choose from a wide range of add-ons for €1 to €2.50: jalapeño, guacamole, pulled pork, cheddar, and others. Add on fries go from €5 to €8.50, depending on your preferences. 2. Restaurant Bazar – Mediterranean food
Location: Witte de Withstraat 16, Rotterdam
Opening hours: Mon to Thu 8:30 – 23:00 (kitchen till 22:00); Fri & Sat 08:30 – 24:00 (kitchen till 23:00); Sun 09:00 – 23.00 (kitchen till 22:00)
This is our recommendation if you are looking for a Mediterranean feast. Not only because of the food, but also for its unique and vibrant vibe. Come at any hour of the day whether you want to have a filling breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Bazar offers a wide range of dishes. Oh and they have loads of vegetarian options! Our preference is El Couscous (meat/ fish/ vegetarian). Prices vary depending on the type of food you order. Main dishes average is around €15 – €17, Our recommendation is not to rush ordering too much, because portions are huge! If there is still room for a dessert, the prices are very friendly starting from €4, and together with a glass of House wine (€4.75) or a cup of coffee (around €3) will be just perfect. 3. Supermercado – cheap Mexican food
Location: Schiedamse Vest 91, Rotterdam
Opening hours: daily 12:00 – 00:00
This place combines a cocktail bar and a Latin-American restaurant with a street food vibe. Supermercado cuisine offers various types of meat, vegetarian as well as vegan dishes. Prices here are very reasonable. For the starter, we suggest taking nachos (€12.50 – €14) which are the must-have here, and we warn that the portion is large enough to share. Also, you must try one of the various types of tacos (€4.25). The food here is great and gives plenty of options to choose from both dinner ou lunch dishes. When it comes to cocktails, Supermercado won’t let you down whether you prefer stronger cocktails or lighter drinks. Our favorites are signature cocktails with prices starting from €11 or one of the old classic drinks, for example, Margarita (€10.50).
4. Café Stalles – cheap pizzas, pasta, salads, and snacks
Location: Nieuwe Binnenweg 11A, Rotterdam
Opening hours: Mon to Thu 15:00 – 01:00; Fri & Sat 12:00 – 03:00; Sun 12:00 – 01:00
Craving on freshly baked pizza? Coffé Stalles waits for you for lunch, dinner, or just drinks. Choose from more than 20 different varieties of pizzas starting from €8.50, pasta (€10.50 – €12.50), salads (€13.50 – €15), or kinds of snacks starting from €5.20. Vegetarian or Vegan? Don’t worry about your vegetarian friends, it welcomes everyone. When it comes to drinks, Café Stalles is well known for its rich menu of beers and whiskeys – 100 different craft beers and over 190 types of whiskeys. 5. Spaghetteria – Italian food
Location: Pannekoekstraat 76, Rotterdam
Opening hours: kitchen open daily from 17:00; Spaghetteria Caffè open from 11:00
Did we mention good Italian food is big in Rotterdam? Find the best traditional Italian pasta at Spaghetteria. Warm and cozy ambiance with great food, perfect to pass as a local with the new friends you met at the hostel. As the menu changes daily, you can never be sure what will be served today so let the chef surprise you, but Here’s the menu so you have an idea. Prices can be a little higher than expected for a cheap place, but still affordable if considering the quality. Pasta most of the time varies from €16 to €19.50. If you wanna treat your sweet tooth, you must try Tiramisù al Marsala (€7.50) for the dessert. You won’t be enough of this place after trying it!
