I want to express my sincere gratitude to the staff at Hotello Hostel Trieste, especially Alessia, Xijadu, and Anna. My experience with Hotello Hostel Trieste was fantastic, largely due to their exceptional customer service. Before my arrival, I encountered multiple booking issues, which I had made through Booking.com. Despite my persistent inquiries and demands, the staff remained consistently responsive and provided helpful responses. Their patience and professionalism were truly commendable. Even in person, they extended the same level of kindness and assistance, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The hostel's facilities are modern (having an elevator) and clean. The mattress was quite comfortable. The location is perfect. The hostel is situated a 7-minute walk from the main bus station and is positioned in the heart of the city center. Personally, I found the blankets and pillows a bit thin, but I understand that this can vary based on individual preferences. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotello Hostel Trieste to any traveler planning a visit to Trieste. With its excellent location and outstanding staff, your stay is sure to be both comfortable and memorable.

I had a great experience at Hostello, the staff were friendly and I loved the Karaoke evening. The location is perfect and I even got a gluten free breakfast (for celiac). The 4 stars is sadly because in the evening a common bathroom was very dirty and when the sign tells you to tell the staff, I did but the response was that there was not enough people to go clean it. That was a bit disappointing for now we had to share the tiny bedroom bathroom with a lot of people. Also the walls are really thin so you hear other people in the n3xt room talking and at the time even screaming and slamming things.

Central location, rooms a bit small but clean. Breakfast good and lots of choice. Price performance is right for one night

Hostel with excellent location, a few blocks from the train station and the center. There are private rooms, but with a private bathroom outside the room. The employees were very friendly and patiently answered all of our questions. There is also a bar in the hotel where breakfast is served and where you can order something to drink. Totally recommended.

This is how hostels work! Of course not as private as a hotel room, that's logical, but very good rooms and atmosphere. Every evening there is a program such as karaoke evening/beer pong etc. in the bar

The hostel is in an excellent position, just a few minutes walk from the center and the train, bus and maritime stations. It has a modern and youthful appearance, it is equipped with a bar on the ground floor that is always open, where breakfast is served and a lounge bar on the top floor where events are organized for guests. The room (I chose a 4-bed room) was a little small but all in all adequate, I must say that only one night during my week-long stay were all four places occupied. The cleanliness is more than satisfactory, the staff I interacted with were always very kind and helpful. Just two small notes: 1. in the single beds the electrical sockets are a little inconvenient and semi-hidden behind the beds, positioned a little further up would have been better. No outlets in the bathroom. 2. The air conditioning always on by default, without the possibility for guests to intervene, can be annoying in the long run.

This is a fine hostel to stay in in Trieste. It’s located near the train station, but it’s easy to reach cultural areas by foot as well and the area felt safe. The rooms are small, and I did find my mattress to be quite dirty (you put your own sheets on). But the bathroom was clean (although it didn’t have any hand soap, which I found unhygienic). The breakfast is very basic (bread, cereal, hard boiled eggs- but no yogurt for example), and the luggage room is just open for anyone to wander into. But overall this was a fine place to stay although I did find that most people were only staying for a single night as they traveled between Venice and Ljubljana.

Transition night to go from Split (Croatia) to Besançon (France). The 11 members of the family were able to be accommodated in the same room. Receptionist attentive and smiling. The view from the 7th floor is splendid

The location is great, right next to the port and main square in Trieste. The rooftop bar has amazing sunset views out to see and back to the hills. The room was clean, air-conditioned and reasonably comfortable - the beds are basic but that is what you pay for. Breakfast is basic but good value.

Lovely place to stay. Lacked facilities that might have justified the price. + Free breakfast and discount at the bar was great, obviously not world-class food but it set you up for the day and there was lots of fruit. Filter coffee included in buffet, €1,04 for a coffee at the bar + Very good coffee at the bar, bar staff very friendly + Good wifi. + 12 beds to a room but beds had more privacy than I've seen in other hostels with dividers between adjacent bunks. Comfy beds + Large drawers that lock, you can either bring your own padlock or buy one for €3 at reception. No trouble fitting a large bag inside + Good vibe. Everyone was friendly and the social events were very nice and it was easy to connect with other people staying. The spritz crawl was wonderful and I gained insight into the city's history. The social dinner was great fun, but the food is deeply mediocre (worth the €5 to me, as it was all you can eat and got to chat to lots of people) + Great location. ALDI five minutes away + 24hr reception + Drinkable tap water, although you have to get it from the bathroom sink + Cleaned daily! - Not enough bathrooms. One toilet per room + another for the whole floor. 7 rooms per four, each with maximum 12 people. This is not enough toilets for 84 people. Shower in each room also but there was a sign in it saying it was not recommended and to use the one in the floor's communal bathroom. One shower for 84 people. With awful water pressure to boot - No soap in most of the bathrooms - Barely a negative, but the drawer for the person on the bottom bunk is directly under the ladder for the top bunk. If it is open it's very hard to get down from the top bunk. - No kitchen facilities. This was mentioned in the hostel's description but the reality was worse than expected. Plates and bowls were available on request, but often it took a while to get them. There's a microwave and a fridge. In a cheaper hostel I would have been fine with this, but for ~35 a night it felt a bit ridiculous. Especially as eating out was very expensive Overall positive experience, just didn't feel like good value for money. Would recommend for those not on a budget

Nice hostel staff. The room layout is well done so that you don't feel like you're in the same room with a lot of people. The bathroom in the room is fine but the shower is a complete misconstruction, impossible to leave the bathroom dry. There are 2 toilets and showers on the floor. Very large lockers under the bed. Breakfast is quite manageable but sufficient. In the evening there is music at the bar. Nice people there.

So this place was good for the price. The rooms are nice, but you have to sleep with other people (rooms of 8-12) so take that into consideration. The breakfast is okay, nothing special, and there is no service. The location is good because you are near the center of Trieste, you can reach many restaurants, shops, grocery stores and museums in no time. I would recommend it to young people like students or somebody who just got a job but not for old people.

This is a great hostel. The free breakfast is diverse and surprisingly good. The vibes are nice and very social. Lots of activities throughout the weekend. Some reviews say the AC does not work but that wasn't true for us. The bathroom in the room smelled awful though. But having a hall bath as well made it okay.

Don't forget that it's a hostel. The lockable compartments for each bed were great. All clean. Mattresses okay. Only the beds could be longer at 1.90m. I was able to check in at 11 on the day of arrival and store my things in my room. Really great 👌

I've been going from hostel to hostel for a while and it's been a while since I've been in one this comfortable. The beds are very good, they have wire to hang towels if you wish. I arrived at 6am and they let me stay in the patio and then leave my luggage until 3pm to check in. Very friendly staff, very clean room and pretty good breakfast too. It does not have a kitchen, but it has a microwave and a communal refrigerator. I recommend it.

I only stored luggage, everything was impeccable

A very good experience, a beautiful hostel, new, with very welcoming staff. The rooms are well appointed and above all very well insulated from noise in the corridors (you can hear absolutely no noise). The staff was also very accommodating in being able to store my bike in the luggage room. Beautiful terrace available and also washing machine and dryer. I highly recommend, especially given the attractive price for a hostel in the city center.
