If you’re looking for a cosy co-working space in Seville, then you need to check out the spot at Oasis Backpackers Hostel! With a welcome atmosphere, large tables, and reliable wifi, it has everything you need and more to get your stuff done.
How many vacation days are you entitled to per year? If you’re reading this from a European perspective, you likely get around 25 or more! But what if you have less than that? Personally, I’m only entitled to 10 per year, which is simply not enough to satisfy the wanderer in me! So when the pandemic really kicked off, I had to think of creative ways to continue working and still take advantage of my vacation days.
And what happened? I learned to maximise them! You’ve probably heard of the term digital nomad. And you probably associate it with the people you’ve seen in hostels who work as freelancers and are never too far from their laptop. But the idea of WHO a digital nomad is is quickly changing, and now includes virtually anyone with the option to work remotely. So if you’re limited with vacation days, this is a chance to maximise your time while still getting your work done!
Let me introduce myself…
So, who am I? My name is Ivanna, I’m from Mexico, and I work for a Mexican company. Since the pandemic started, I’ve been working from home, and have enjoyed the change! Once travel restrictions started to ease, I planned a trip with my partner who’s Italian. We chose the Andalusian region in Spain as our destination, as its known for sunny weather and romantic options! As for a timeline, we decided to travel for a few weeks. Both of us were hungry for a healthy dose of Spanish culture, so we started our adventure in Sevilla!
Finding a co-working space was pretty key in our selection for accommodation. The availability of co-working spaces for digital nomads and remote workers means you no longer have to stay in your room, or sit in a cafe all day to work. And let’s be honest: neither of those options are ever really that comfortable. Additionally, co-working spaces can be pretty inspirational and social places to work and get your stuff done! And this is exactly what I found at the co-working space at Oasis Backpackers Hostel in Seville.
Features of the Co-Working Space in Seville
Generally speaking, all co-working spaces have one goal in mind: to create and offer a space where digital nomads and remote workers can feel comfy and inspired to get their work done. And demand for these spaces has increased tremendously with the amount of people who now have either flexible working hours or the option to work remotely.
Personally speaking, I needed a spot where I could work in the afternoons with reliable wifi and a big table or desk. I also wanted a space where I could socialise with others, and since this spot is in a hostel, it suited my needs perfectly!
The co-working space at Oasis Backpackers Hostel in Seville is quite spacious, bright, green, and open 24/7. This is a huge perk for those who work in distant timezones, or consider themselves night owls! It’s open to guests and the public, but spots must be booked in advance.
The space also features one large table with 4 work spaces, as well as a meeting room for 6 people. Hostel staff can also print, scan, or copy anything you need, which is a nice bonus. There are plenty of outlets too, so you won’t be left scrambling to find a quick charge. But it’s always good to be prepared and have a portable battery on hand.
And finally, let’s talk about the wifi. This is easily the most important thing you’ll need while working remotely, and I’m happy to say the wifi here is reliable! The Oasis Co-Working Space in Seville truly offers everything you need in a cosy, welcoming, and modern atmosphere. So, all I can say is that if you find yourself in Seville and need a spot to work, this place will certainly do the trick!
Perks of Working Remotely
If there’s anything most of us can agree on as a result of this pandemic, it’s that the option for home office and working remotely is a welcome change! Now that we no longer have to spend time commuting, not only has our productivity increased, but we’ve also gained more free time and flexibility. And from a personal perspective, I’m also able to travel more. And I see that as a huge win!
Because I work for a Mexican company, I would start my working days in the afternoon in Europe. The time difference meant I could go out and explore sunny Seville in the mornings. And this was a pretty great way to start the day to be honest. Rather than wake up and immediately get into it, I could spend my days enjoying a nutritious breakfast and taking in the local sights. And if the day was too hot, I could even squeeze in a ‘siesta’ before getting into my work day in the afternoon. It really makes a difference in your productivity, and is something I could certainly get used to.
