First of all, you’ll be in front of the main seat of the Danish royal family: Amalienborg Palace. It’s one of the greatest works of Danish Rococo architecture. In the center of the Palace’s courtyard, you’ll find a monumental equestrian statue of Frederick V, who was the founder of the palace. The public can visit two of the four palaces. The first one is the Levetzau Palace, a small museum where you can admire some of the private apartments with the royal family’s jewels. The second one is Moltke Palace, a big room used to welcome guests during important events. Amalienborg is guarded by the Royal Bodyguard. There is the ceremony of guard change every day at 12 on Amalienborg Square.

Just at the beginning of the canal, you will find a huge anchor, a symbol that commemorates the Danish sailors who died during the Second World War. This area is very busy in the summer, when both locals and tourists spend a nice evening in the bars. You can’t miss this popular place!
La Sirenetta
Il Sirenetta is Denmark’s most famous tourist attraction. The small bronze statue was inspired by one of the best-known fairy tales by the Danish writer Andersen. This iconic statue gained a certain popularity thanks to some photos published in an American newspaper until it became the most famous symbol of Copenhagen. Nevertheless, today it’s known as a castle. Rosenborg Castle is above all a museum in which the Danish Royal House has collected the treasure of the Crown. Here you’ll also find the royal family’s precious objects, paintings, and weapons. You’ll be amazed!
Palazzo Christiansborg
Neanche questo scherza! Palazzo Christiansborg si trova a Slotsholmen, su una piccola isola di Copenhagen. Questo edificio, chiamato anche Terzo Christiansborg, è stato completato nel 1928 e usato come sede del parlamento danese. Ospita anche gli uffici del primo ministro e della corte suprema della Danimarca. La famiglia reale ancora oggi utilizza alcune aree del palazzo, come le sale da cerimonia.
The most significant room you have to visit is certainly the Throne Room. Here the Queen greets government officials, kings, presidents, and ambassadors. Another unmissable room of Christiansborg Palace is the Great Hall. Considered the heart of the palace, in this room Queen’s gala dinners and state visits take place.
