Have you ever been in Carnaval de Nice?

Posted at:2 February, 2013 in Blog, Festivals

One of the main events in this beautiful city is Nice carnival, one of the largest carnivals in the world, offering a programme of amazing entertainment … from 15th February to 6th March 2013.

The carnival processions, comprising 18 floats work their way up to a crescendo of gigantic decorations on the Place Masséna. These giant, colourful parades take place day and night, with entertainment provided by over 1,000 musicians and dancers from across the world.

In the Promenade des Anglais, the ebeautiful “flower battles” are part of the carnival not to be missed. On floats decorated with the most stunning floral compositions, extravagantly dressed characters throw out mimosas, gerberas, and lilies into the public …

For over 15 days, the city dances to the rhythm of this genuine, fairy-tale event … Come to the celebration and let the magic do its work … enjoy and forget the dullness of winter and take in the sun on the French Riviera!

The theme for 2013 is “King of the five continents” , the theme remaining true to its vocation of universality. A journey through time and space opening all perspectives to imagination. As for the guest of honour, the French-speaking world, Nice playing host to the French-speaking Games in 2013, it was a natural choice.

Book the best accommodation in Nice: Villa Saint Exupery. This exceptional former Monastery has the friendliest and most professional staff on the Riviera. The hostel in Nice is the leading in-spot in town: half the clients extend their stay.

The Villa hostel has an excellent all-you-can-eat free breakfast which includes delicious French bread, toast, a selection of 12 cereals, coffee, juice and other refreshments.
